Generation to generation
The Artmattire antiques business has been handed down for three generations, in fact it was born in Paris in the 15-20s with Clemance Rivey, a cultured and very enterprising woman, who after having given up teaching the Tsar's grandchildren in Russia, returned to France, where she married the painter Louis Defontaine and started her business first in Saint-Germain-en-Laye and then in the Cรดte d'Azur. It will then be her daughter Genevieve Rivey Defontaine who will continue the business in Bassano del Grappa, having moved to Italy for love. In the 70s the children continued the work, in particular Irene together with her husband Diego. From antiques the business has specialized in the research and sale of ๐ฆ๐จ๐๐๐ซ๐ง ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ฌ, especially ๐๐ญ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ง ๐๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง from the 1950s to the 1980s. There is sometimes a shortage of older articles, given the experience now developed.
